Philip Calland is a seasoned financial services executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in operations, compliance, risk management, and finance across global investment banking and external audit. He has recently assumed the role of General Auditor, Head of Corporate Audit, Asia Pacific at Bank of America, where he leads the firm’s internal audit coverage and engagement with regulators across the region. Previously, Philip served as Head of Global Markets Operations, Asia Pacific, directing more than 650 professionals across 12 countries and 24 legal entities. In this capacity, he managed active relationships with 54 regulatory bodies, ensuring strong governance, effective risk management, and timely responses to supervisory inquiries. Over his career, Philip has successfully led large-scale operational strategies and transformation programs across the U.S., Asia, and EMEA. His experience spans global markets, payments, operational risk, and regulatory compliance, with a proven record of enabling business growth while maintaining robust risk controls and represented his institution in regulatory and industry working groups. Philip is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a graduate of Imperial College London (BEng, Mechanical Engineering). He began his career at Deloitte in public accounting and external audit before moving into banking. A former Royal Navy Engineering Officer, he brings a disciplined, transparent leadership style that emphasizes accountability, resilience, and sustainable control environments. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Philip is active in global volunteer and community initiatives most recently serving as a regional fundraising leader for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Singapore, as well as a keen cyclist and amateur mountaineer.
