Head of Asia Pacific Surveillance

Cynthia Poh is HSBC’s Asia Head of Surveillance, based in Hong Kong. In this role, which she has held for more than a year, she is responsible for trade surveillance, communications surveillance and unauthorised trading surveillance across Asia. Cynthia previously spent 19 years at UBS and Credit Suisse, working in Zurich and New York in a range of surveillance leadership roles. Her experience includes leading surveillance model development, surveillance product ownership, overseeing the tuning and calibration of trade surveillance and transaction monitoring models, as well as unauthorised trading surveillance. Earlier in her career, she held roles in the Investment Banking COO Controls team and in Internal Audit – Investment Banking. She holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney and bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Commerce from the University of Sydney.
